The island of Aur is located in the South China Sea, off the east coast of Johor and about seventy-five kilometres from Mersing. Aur compromises of two main islands, one with a rustic fishing village and a longhouse providing visitors with the most basic of accommodation whilst the other has resort facilities. These islands can be reached by boat from Mersing and depending on the type of boat visitors use, the journey can take 2.5 to 5 hours. 

Fresh water is available from a small steam on the island itself. The Aur Island is a beautiful island with secluded lagoons and off shore pools perfect for visitors to bath in privacy. Visitors can rent fishing boats or private boats for touring the islands at very reasonable rates.

Visibility for diving is superb and divers can catch a glimpse of shipwrecks and artifacts strewn along the seabed. This area is also popular for game fishing where huge fishes such as the Marlins, Barracudas and giant Groupas are available.
